Our social media accounts use our white shield with a violet background for their avatars. For consistency, include the words ‘University of Sheffield’ in your description and try to include an abbreviation of Sheffield in your account name eg Bioengineering Shef.
Safe space
Our social media icons use a safe area to provide clear space around them.
Circular
The safe area circle is 85% of the outer circle size. The shield is then scaled and positioned using the three corner points.
Square
The safe area square is 75% of the outer square size. The shield is then scaled to the height of this box and then aligned to the centre of the square.
Header images
Social media header images can help capture the attention of our audiences and make a positive first impression.
The image you choose should be the highest quality possible.
Because different platforms have different specifications for header images, it may not be possible to reuse the same size image across all of your social media channels. Check the specifications of the header image sizes before uploading.
Different platforms also alternate their sizing for different devices. Make sure the image you choose works for desktop, mobile, tablet and other available devices.
