Sarah joined the University of Sheffield in May 2025 as a Clinical Educator working closely with the Pharmacy Practice Skills team.

Sarah registered as a Pharmacy Technician in 2019 within community pharmacy, where she worked for several years. She then moved on to work within secondary care at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHSFT where she undertook a role as Senior Pharmacy Technician in Ward Services and went on to specialise in antimicrobial services. 

Since joining secondary care, Sarah has gone on to complete a secondment year with Joined Up Care Derbyshire as a Project Lead. Within this role she worked in partnership with University of Nottingham in setting up their MPharm student placements across Derbyshire, as well as several other projects that aimed to develop the Pharmacy Workforce across Derbyshire. 

In 2024, Sarah was awarded an NIHR studentship to undergo an MA in Research Methods (Health) with the University of Nottingham, which she completes part-time alongside her working roles.

Research interests

Sarah’s research interests lie in LGBTQ+ healthcare inequalities, predominantly within pharmacy. 

She has a particular interest in gender-affirming care and pharmacy education and is currently exploring this within her masters at the University of Nottingham.

Within her role as co-chair of APTUK Pride Branch, Sarah is an active and keen leader that delivers professional sessions to the Pharmacy Technician workforce on LGBTQ+ matters to better workforce understanding and patient care and delivery. 

Sarah is also a member of the University of Sheffield’s One University EDI committee, and aims to be a key EDI spokesperson within the MPharm programme at the University of Sheffield.
