Arriving at the University

You will have booked to visit us 10am to 12.30pm or 2pm to 4.30pm on your offer holder day. Please arrive in good time for the start of your booked session, as we'll need to scan the QR code from your booking to register you.

Your arrival location is: The Medical School, Lecture Theatre 3 (Floor F). You can view this on our interactive campus map, and there will also be lots of open day staff and ambassadors around campus to assist you.

If you arrive late for your booked session, please report to the general information stand on the Students’ Union concourse, where event staff will be able to help.

When booking, you'll be able to reserve a place for yourself and one guest. To ensure safe venue capacities, we will be unable to accommodate any additional unbooked visitors.

However, you're welcome to bring additional guests to accompany you on the day, and we would encourage these guests to take part in our range of central exhibitions and tours while activities are running.

We run a range of activities on our applicant days and the below examples will give you an insight into what you could be doing on the day.

Interactive Experience

As part of the Open Day, you'll get the chance to interact with different equipment used on the course, such as our Virtual Reality headsets and frailty suits. You'll also get to be involved in a scenario using medication use, fluid balance and urinalysis, observations and CPR, all of which is taught on the course.

Taster Lecture and Quiz

This will be an interactive quiz based on the nursing skills and activities you've participated in during the Open Day. You'll be in groups, with help from our Student Ambassadors, and it's sure to be competitive. There will be prizes!

Parents and supporters tour

Whilst applicants are going around the interactive sessions, accompanying guests will have the chance to meet with academic staff, alumni students and Practice Partners to ask questions. Refreshments will be available and nursing resources and achievements will be showcased to view.
