The exhibition was a display of creative art, poetry and prose contributed by people affected by dementia living in the region and abroad. During the week long event there was also a screening of the acclaimed short-film 'Gracie' with actor and director Mathew Jacobs Morgan and the 2nd University of Sheffield Dementia Futures conference, where PhD students presented their dementia-related work in plain English. The event was coordinated by David Reid from The School of Nursing and Midwifery who said:
"The School of Nursing and Midwifery is striving to become a dementia-friendly department within the University of Sheffield. The exhibition sends out a clear message to remember that while dementia brings with it a range of impairments and challenges, the people affected retain skills and abilities. It is vital that opportunities are provided for these to shine through, and challenge the pervasive and damaging stigma dementia has attracted in the past".
