In the School of Allied Health Professions, Nursing and Midwifery we offer a range of accredited degree programmes so that you can qualify as a nurse, midwife, orthoptist, or speech and language therapist.
Nursing
Our accredited undergraduate Nursing degree will prepare you for a career at the heart of healthcare, working directly with patients and clinicians to improve and save lives every day.
Online subject taster
We’re hosting an online Nursing taster session on Wednesday 29 May.
Midwifery
Our postgraduate Midwifery degree will enable you to become a highly-skilled, autonomous midwife who can support, advise and advocate for women, birthing individuals, their partners, and their families.
Orthoptics
We run an undergraduate degree programme in Orthoptics, so that you can become a specialist at diagnosing, managing and treating eye movement disorders and visual impairments.

We’re hosting an online Orthoptics taster session on Tuesday 21 May.
Speech and Language Therapy
We offer undergraduate and postgraduate Speech and Language Therapy degrees, designed to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to support people with a wide range of communication issues, or difficulties with eating, drinking and swallowing.

Why study Speech and Language Therapy?
Funding your studies
A training grant of at least £5,000 per year is available for all eligible UK (Home) students completing a degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Orthoptics, or Speech and Language Therapy to help them with their studies, as well as extra funding to cover the cost of travel to clinical placements where applicable.
There is also funding available for students with at least one dependent child or for those facing hardship.
International scholarships
We offer a generous package of financial support for international students, including undergraduate and postgraduate taught scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee.
Applications are open for existing offer holders for programmes starting in autumn 2025.
