Why did you want to get involved with this initiative?
I was drawn to this role because it gave me the exposure, opportunities, and flexibility to work in the field of research alongside my postgraduate studies in International Development and Environmental Change in the School of Geography and Planning.
What are you working on within the Urban Institute?
I am supporting the development of the Sheffield Urbanism community being brought together by the Urban Institute staff and Associates across the different schools here at the University of Sheffield.
So far, I’ve contributed by writing reports, supporting communications, and helping create materials to share workshop outcomes—whether through website content, social media posts, or blogs.
How does this relate to your post-graduate studies?
With experience spanning urban design, communications, and research, I have a strong interest in theories and debates in urban development, climate change, and community-led design. I thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy creating meaningful content, and love attending events where I can engage with experts and contribute to impactful conversations on environmental and social issues.
What have you enjoyed most so far?
I enjoyed attending the Sheffield Urbanism Winter Programme and listening to the different lectures and discussions around cities and climate change. You can read my blog on Integrating Cities into International Climate Strategies here.
