- Profile
-
I am a chartered psychologist, and an accredited psychotherapist. I have lectured in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in psychology, and in counselling and psychotherapy, for the last twenty-five years. I have held academic appointments at the University of Salford, Leeds Beckett University, University of Central Lancashire, and the University of Leeds.
My PhD research has explored men’s experiences of depression, which I have approached through theories of critical studies of men and masculinities. Additionally, I have conducted research in the use of psychological support in the workplace, and I have published in professional journals on issues related to psychotherapy and clinical supervision. My active research interests are, broadly, in men’s mental health.
