Data-driven arts/humanities/social sciences is an Interest Group of Shef.AI, the multidisciplinary community for AI researchers at TUoS, which is supported by the Centre for Machine Intelligence.

Introduction

The Data-driven Arts, Humanities and Social Science Interest Group aims to build collaborations at the intersection between data science and digital humanities. We aim to explore the challenges, risks, opportunities and other untapped potentials of AI and data-driven research in arts, humanities and social science.

Research areas

  • Use of Data and AI in arts, humanities and social science
  • Social and ecological aspects of Data and AI
  • AI in galleries, libraries, archives and museums (GLAM)

Aims of the interest group

  • Provide a platform to share knowledge, experiences and perspectives of the use of AI in arts, humanities and social science
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaborations to revolutionise data-driven research in social science
  • Build network with industries and organisations, such as the British Library, and the National Archives
