Other Open Access Initiatives

Other open access initiatives the Library proudly supports that provide access to open access support tools, metadata management, and community run databases.

On

Flybase - Funding Contributors

Flybase is a community-run database for drosophila genetics and molecular biology. It relies on individual access fees from users, and their labour to maintain the platform. It also accepts larger institutional donations and we were proud to do this.

The Programming Historian - OA Supporter Membership

The Programming Historian publishes “novice-friendly, peer-reviewed tutorials” to support practitioners of digital humanities. It is committed to the diamond open access model where there are no charges to authors, therefore, it relies on supporters to achieve this.

Thoth Metadata (OBC)

Thoth (Open Book Collective) gives publishers the ability to gain all the metadata to properly spread their published books and get into the book supply chain. This makes it easier for them to be found and distributed. It aims to develop in an effort to help with more publications in the future.
