ORDA and Special Collections, Heritage and Archives takedown notice
Information on how to notify us of a removal (takedown) request for material on our ORDA repository and Special Collections sites, and on how we will respond.
To request the removal (takedown) of an item from our research data repository, ORDA, or our digitised Special Collections, Heritage and Archives collections, either as the item’s author or if you believe that its content infringes UK law, please contact us, including the URL of the record and the reason for the takedown request in your email.
Your request will be acknowledged and an initial assessment will be undertaken by University of Sheffield Library staff. We aim to acknowledge and assess the request within seven working days of receipt.
If the takedown request is approved, the material will be withdrawn from public view, either permanently or for an agreed period. A record giving information about the item may remain visible, either in the repository or library catalogue. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
It may be necessary for legal advice to be taken before the issue can be fully resolved.
If your takedown request relates to materials held on White Rose Research Online (WRRO) or White Rose eTheses Online (WREO) please see the relevant White Rose takedown pages, available here for WRRO and here for WREO.
For all other takedown requests of University of Sheffield content not held in library managed repositories and archives, please see our copyright infringement policy.
