Description

"Evidence doesn't speak for itself" (Virtual event)

Researchers are increasingly concerned with real world impact of research. Simply pumping out academic publications is unlikely to achieve this. Drawing on her experience as Chief Knowledge Officer for the NHS in England, Sue Lacey Bryant will discuss the ways that health research does or does not reach practice. What is it like for practitioners? How can researchers help? She will also discuss how AI may or may not impact practice, for instance by enabling rapid synthesis of research evidence.

Sue Lacey-Bryant. Sue is Visiting Professor at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK and Vice President of CILIP. She is also a mentor to the Complete Care Communities Programme.
She was formerly chief Knowledge Officer at NHS England. Sue was member of the Review Board, and senior programme manager, for the Topol Review, the far-reaching technology review for the NHS led by Professor Eric Topol. She also instigated the CILIP research report on the impact of AI and ML on the information professions.
