University of Alberta colleagues toured Sheffield's world-leading facilities as collaboration plans for health and engineering research and innovation continue to be explored.

Sheffield and Alberta have a longstanding relationship through the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) and have launched a jointly funded research seed funding programme focusing on Energy, Sustainable Food and Health & AI research.

Delegates from the University of Alberta recently visited the University to tour the facilities at the Translational Energy Research Centre and meet with a range of colleagues to discuss health and engineering research and innovation, collaboration opportunities and a commitment to a bilateral partnership between the two institutions. The University of Alberta's visit follows on from Sheffield Vice-Chancellor Professor Koen Lamberts’ visit to Alberta in October 2024 where we signed a memorandum of understanding and explored opportunities for collaboration, particularly in manufacturing.
