£5,000 accommodation discount available for students from Nigeria
We are offering an early bird discount for rooms in Allen Court for postgraduate taught students from selected countries - including Nigeria! Combined with our automatic postgraduate taught scholarship worth £3,000, you could save £8,000 on your overall study expenses!
Allen Court is part of our City accommodation, close to the city centre and the University’s Students’ Union and other main buildings. There are en-suite and deluxe en-suite rooms and rent includes utility bills, contents insurance and internet access, as well as Residence Life events and sports activities throughout the year.
There is limited availability for these discounted rooms with 300 rooms available in Allen Court. To apply for your accommodation and secure this offer you must have first accepted your study place. Accommodation applications open in March, so accepting your offer now means you will be the first to know when rooms open for booking.
How to apply
- Accept your study place. You must have accepted your offer to study at Sheffield in order to apply for accommodation.
- We will email you when applications for accommodation open.
- Log into MUSE and apply for accommodation in Allen Court.
- Pay £150 accommodation deposit to secure your room (deposit payable when your offer is unconditional, rooms will be held for conditional offer holders).
Eligibility
- This discount is limited to the first 300 rooms booked in Allen Court accommodation only.
- This discount is available for postgraduate taught offer holders for 2026 entry only.
- This discount is available to postgraduate taught offer holders from the following countries: India, Pakistan, Japan, Nigeria, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom.
Additional information
- You must pay a £150 deposit to secure your room in Allen Court. This is refundable if you are subsequently unable to take up your study place.
- The discount will reduce the annual rent by £5,000. Rent is paid in three installments. No cash alternative is available.
- To study in the UK on a student visa you must show that you have enough money to pay for your course and support yourself in the UK (known as the ‘financial requirement’). The maximum permitted discount that will show on your CAS for living costs is £1,529.
- Eligible offer holders may also receive the International Postgraduate Scholarship.
