Social activities
Sheffield is located in the heart of the UK - it’s a modern city with everything you need and more, from indoor food halls to museums and theatres there’s something for everyone.
The Peak District National Park is on our doorstep so if you love to hike, mountain climb or cycle you’ll be able to do it looking at the most incredible views.
We’ve planned an exciting variety of events to help you explore Sheffield and connect with your classmates, ensuring you make the most of your time outside the classroom. From sampling Sheffield’s vibrant food scene to uncovering the city's hidden treasures, there’s something for everyone! Below are examples of the types of activities we’ll be running for our summer school students this year. A finalised schedule of social events will be shared with all attendees prior to the start of their session. A timetable of activities will be provided nearer the time.
As part of your summer school we will be taking you on:
- Visit to Chatsworth House - as seen in the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice
- A day trip to the cathedral city of York
A range of optional activities include:
- Movie nights
- Bowling
- Trip to the Peak District
