- Profile
-
I am a visiting PhD student ordinarily based in Basel, Switzerland. My work is concerned with the influence of Social Darwinism and Malthusianism on social policy in England, Switzerland and Germany during the late 19th and early 20th century. My research interests include the social state, poverty and the treatment of "deviant" people by state and non-state institutions. I graduated from the University of Oxford in 2022 with a Master's degree in Economic and Social History. Prior to that, I completed a B.A. in Modern History and English & American Studies at the University of Freiburg.
