IGSD work on biophilic classrooms in green schools was exhibited at the Millenium Gallery as part of the 2025 Festival of Social Sciences.

An international team led by Miguel Kanai, Environment Lead at IGSD, exhibited their work on biophilic classrooms in green schools at the Research Arcade that took place between October 31st and November 2nd at the Millenium Gallery as part of the Festival of Social Science.

Their stand featured an immersive audiovisual installation of the transformative power of vegetation in ‘grey’ educational environments and simple tools to promote inter-generational participation in the design of these interventions.

The work has been carried out internationally with engaged schools in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia as well as Sheffield, and is based on multiple years of research supported by the British Academy (GCRF), the European Research Council (Horizon 2020) and multiple international sponsors and volunteers.
