Information on the options for receiving your graduation certificate.
Digital certificates
Following graduation, your digital certificate will be released in Gradintelligence.
Physical certificates
Attending graduation
If you attend your ceremony you will receive your certificate on the day, unless your award was previously conferred in absentia, in which case you should have already received it.
Not attending graduation
If you are not attending graduation you need to register your intention to graduate in absentia. This allows you to confirm your personal details and to provide an address for us to post your certificate to following the ceremonies. We are unable to send your certificate if you don't complete this process.
Postage of certificates
Certificates to the UK: certificates sent to addresses in the UK are sent by second class mail as standard. However, if you would like your certificate sent by a tracked service, we can send it using Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Certificates to overseas addresses
Royal Mail is unable to provide a tracking service for most overseas countries. Certificates are therefore sent by standard airmail. However, if you would like to have your certificate sent using the DHL Express Worldwide service we can arrange this for you. The cost for this service is dependent on the destination country and is available to more than 220 countries worldwide.
Having your certificate sent by courier service
If you would like to have your certificate sent to you using the DHL Express Worldwide service, rather than standard airmail, we are happy to arrange this for you.

Where is my certificate?
Certificates from the 20-24 July 2026 ceremonies
Expected delivery times according to service.
All certificates from the July 2926 ceremonies (except for those with address queries) have now been despatched. Please wait until the estimated delivery times (as below) have passed before contacting us.
If you have not given a mailing address, your certificate will be taken to SSID for collection by Monday 16 February.

Certificates from the In Absentia ceremony on 27 January 2026

Please note
We cannot issue certificates to any third party on your behalf.
If you do not provide a mailing address for your certificate to be posted to you it will be taken to SSID for safekeeping. You should contact the Graduation Team to check on the status of your certificate before going to SSID to collect.
Certificates lost in transit
Although the vast majority of certificates are received, occasionally some items will get 'lost'. In order to guarantee the delivery of your certificate, we strongly advise you to use one of the guaranteed methods above.
Should your certificate not arrive using these methods please contact us. If you choose a standard service for delivery, you will need to order a replacement certificate (for which the usual fee will be charged) from Student Services.
