Graduation celebrations in China
We were absolutely thrilled to bring our graduation ceremonies to China this year, with ceremonies in Shanghai and Beijing. Seeing our 2015–2025 graduates celebrate their hard-earned achievements surrounded by family and friends at home was nothing short of spectacular.
Our graduates crossed the stage in front of a delegation of University of Sheffield staff, including our President and Vice-Chancellor Koen Lamberts. Guests heard inspiring speeches from fellow graduates as well as our President and Vice-Chancellor while also having the opportunity to network and reminisce on their experiences of Sheffield.
Our events also featured interactive photo opportunities, a professional photographer, bespoke graduation gowns and were livestreamed to extend the celebration to friends and family further afield.
It was a privilege to meet so many of our graduates, future students and alumni in China. Seeing the pride of our graduates and their families, it was clear how much it meant to them that we were hosting graduation celebrations in their home country, and that they continue to feel a strong connection to Sheffield.

We want to do it all over again.
Because we know how much these milestones mean to you and your families and friends, we’re exploring the option of a future China graduation in 2027, alongside our traditional Sheffield events. Our China graduation celebration events will be presentation ceremonies, and we welcome graduates who have already attended a ceremony at University of Sheffield, as well as those who have not attended their graduation in Sheffield.
