From University of Sheffield Geography alumni to Chief Exceutive of Skateboard GB. Meet James Hope-Gill, a highly-connected sports professional who boasts 25 years of success, with deep expertise in grassroots football and navigating diverse sporting landscapes.

As a skilled strategist and change agent, he will share his wisdom on developing and implementing winning visions, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, and driving business growth for not-for-profit organisations.

James has a proven experience in aligning sport with broader social agendas (health, education, cohesion) and a keen interest in exploring new business opportunities beyond the sports sector, so a useful contact for anyone interested within these sectors.

From September 2015, James was appointed as the founding CEO of Skateboard England.

This role initially focused on setting up the structures and systems to support growth of the sport in the UK and prepare for skateboarding’s first Olympic inclusion in Tokyo 2020. The organisation has seen significant growth in the last few years as funding has been secured. During this time James has been a member of the World Skateboarding Commission, and has a remit within the international federation for leading on adaptive-skateboarding.
