Claire Hammonds

During the twenty nine and a half years I worked there, I progressed to the Office Manager role, managing a team of 15 administration staff.

From there I joined a local FTSE 250 firm as head office receptionist.  Throughout the ten years I worked for them, I gained exceptional reception and customer service skills.

In early 2018, I joined the Multidisciplinary Engineering Education (MEE) Department. I have become an integral part of the professional services team. In my role as MEE receptionist, my remit is varied. My main job is being the first point of contact for staff and students and making sure everyone feels welcome.  

During my three years at the university, I have taken the lead in 2018 as Green Impact Champion and achieved with my colleagues a Silver Green Impact Award.

I have organised all the charity events that MEE have participated in raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Children in Need. The approximate total raised so far is £431.00.
