Current Maintenance Issues

15/01/2025	Pam Liversidge Quarrell Laboratory Amy Johnson Annexe Amy Johnson Building Portobello Centre	Veolia are planning to carry out essential pipework repairs on the District Energy Network in the St. Georges area. The works are to ensure the continued reliable operation of their services. Date: Thursday 15th January 2026 Start Time: 19:00 Duration: Approximately 12 hours Veolia understand that these works may cause disruption and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. They are committed to keeping any disruption to a minimum and will do their best to complete the necessary works as quickly and efficiently as possible. UPDATE 16/01/2026 - 08:30 You may be aware but our District Heating provider, Veolia, was carrying out essential maintenance work last night on the following buildings. The work was scheduled to be completed at 7:00am this morning but unfortunately the work has overrun due to an unexpected complication. They now expect the service to be fully restored later this morning. UPDATE 16/01/2026 - 08:30

You may be aware but our District Heating provider, Veolia, was carrying out essential maintenance work last night on the following buildings. 15/01/2026	Firth Hall Block	Water leak has been reported in the main stairwell of Firth Hall block. Water has been isolated. Technical Services have been notified and will pick this up as a matter of urgency.

05/01/2026	Students Union	Please be aware that the Lift outside the SU on Glossop Rd side has had to be isolated as the doors have been forced. We are awaiting a quote and a timescale for the repair and will update in due course.

Some works will still be carried out in the following buildings in the early morning of Monday 5 January. 12/12/2025	Perak Building	Please note lift 1 at Perak has had to be isolated by external contractor Ansa. Parts are being sourced and the lift will be returned to service asap. This lift is now back in operation as of 17/12/25.
