Workshop: Introduction to the EU Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC) dataset
Joint CWiPP and CREED Workshop
CWiPP and the Centre for Regional Economic and Enterprise Development (CREED) co-hosted a workshop on the EU Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC dataset) on 24th October 2013. The workshop was given by Dr Álvaro Martínez-Pérezz, and covered an introduction to the dataset (sampling, variables, access, etc.).
The EU-SILC covers 27+ EU countries; 270K individuals from 130K households in repeat cross section; 200K individuals from 100K households in longitudinal section. It therefore offers a rich resource for conducting social science research across different EU countries.
All University of Sheffield staff and student have access to the data by applying through the Interdisciplinary Centre of the Social Sciences (ICoSS).
CREED, the Centre for Regional Economic and Enterprise Development, is a Research Centre in the Management School at the University of Sheffield. More information on CREED is available here.
