What are the aims of the workshop? 

This scoping workshop will bring together researchers, professionals and campaigners that work with children, young people and families in Sheffield.  

We aim to provide a space to: 

  • Share priorities for communities of care, and opportunity for children, young people and families in Sheffield
  • Outline ways of working together to forge future research and knowledge exchange partnerships
  • Develop an action plan to support the building of future collaborations and to address priorities identified

The day will open with refreshments and conversation. This will be followed by workshop activities to explore how we might collaborate. We will close with a networking lunch. A more detailed agenda will be shared prior to the event. 

Date: Tuesday 14th October 2025

Time:  9.30am - 1pm, including lunch and refreshment

Location & Participant numbers:  TBC, up to 30 participants, central University of Sheffield venue.

Who is this workshop for? 

This workshop is for anybody interested in University-city partnerships and who is involved with the care, support, early help and specialist services that children, young people and parents / guardians need to support their inclusion, wellbeing, life chances and daily lives in Sheffield.

This could include researchers, strategic leads, service managers, practitioners, charities, advocacy groups and user, voice & influence groups in Sheffield. This is not a comprehensive list - please get in touch with us if you are interested in finding out more!
