Yorkshire Cancer Research launch workshop: Sheffield Pioneers & More Life to Live funds Round 5

Event details
Description
Yorkshire Cancer Research has established two funds which are ringfenced for cancer research at Sheffield, thanks to the success of the cancer drug Lynparza, discovered at the university with funding from the charity. The two funds, YCR Sheffield Pioneers and YCR More Life to Live, have the potential to transform cancer research at Sheffield. The total size of the funds for Round 5 has not yet been announced.
We are delighted to welcome Dr Stuart Griffiths (Director of Research, Policy and Impact), and Dr Vicky Napp (Head of Research & Clinical Trials) from Yorkshire Cancer Research. Zoe Lingard, Research Growth Manager for Cancer Research will also attend. At the workshop, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you have about award types, timings, review criteria and the outline internal review process and the external peer review process. Discuss with colleagues from across the university and enjoy a networking lunch. There will also be the opportunity to book 1:1 sessions with either YCR or Zoe Lingard to discuss your application in more detail.
Please note that, due to the success of previous rounds, this year’s Sheffield Pioneers Scheme will be smaller than previous years. The focus will be on ECRs, with Transition Fellowships and Small Grants (Pump Priming) awards available. This year’s scheme will not be accepting applications for Project, Programme, Advanced Fellowship or Transformative Capital awards.
