Richard White

Richard has over 20 years’ experience in mechanical engineering design and management in both Industrial and research organisations. After gaining a BEng (Hons) from Sheffield University in Mechanical engineering he spent 16 years in the steel and aluminium rolling industry, designing and installing equipment for clients across the globe. During this time Richard spent 5 years in Shanghai setting up and running Siemens Metals Technologies’ mechanical engineering capability in China, before returning to the UK to manage their Sheffield-based mechanical department.

In 2018 Richard joined the AMRC as the Senior Technology Officer and is the AMRC’s primary interface to the High Value Manufacturing Catapult and the other 6 HVMC centres in the UK. As part of this role he is responsible for administration and oversight of the AMRC’s Catapult funded portfolio, managing the allocation of the Catapult Core grant and contributes to the UK’s manufacturing research strategy across numerous, diverse sectors and technologies including Aerospace, Food & Drink, Construction and High Value Design.
