Jon has a masters degree in theoretical physics and a PhD in soft matter physics from the University of Sheffield. He originally started working at the AMRC in 2012, left in 2016 to study for his PhD, and returned in 2021. In that time he has worked on a wide range of projects involving automation, metrology and connectivity.
Jon is the technical lead for connected factories in the integrated manufacturing group. Focusing on data acquisition from industrial machines, and how this data can be used for process monitoring, human machine interaction, and sustainability.
