Profile

Dr Daniele De Gaetano received the BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Naples “Federico II,” in 2016, the MSc in Electrical Energy Engineering from the University of Padua, in 2018, and the PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham, in 2022. His research as a PhD student focused on multi-phase machines and current harmonic injection techniques for torque capability improvement. Daniele joined the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Sheffield in 2022 as a Research Associate, investigating high-frequency bearing currents in electrical machines. Daniele subsequently transitioned into his current role as a Research Engineer within the AMRC, where he focuses on analysis, modelling and design of electrical machines for a wide range of applications, and manufacturing effects on electrical machine core losses. He has also been a member of the EPSRC Future Electrical Machines Manufacturing Hub.
