Description
Embark on an interstellar voyage with alumna Dr Emily Rickman, a scientist for the European Space Agency (ESA) at the Space Telescope Science Institute and Global Winner of the 2024 British Council Science and Sustainability Award. Dr Rickman will offer a fascinating glimpse into current cutting-edge of astronomical research and the exciting discoveries that lie ahead.
Dr Rickman graduated from the University of Sheffield with a first class Masters degree with honours in Physics and Astrophysics. She is an astrophysicist and scientist for the European Space Agency, based at the Mission Operations Center for the most powerful telescope ever launched, NASA/ESA/CSA's James Webb Space Telescope.
Join us for an exciting opportunity to hear about Dr Rickman's journey at Sheffield and beyond, and what ground-breaking research she has taken part in along the way. There will also be a networking reception after the Q&A, allowing you to connect with students and fellow alumni.
Following the Q&A, attendees are invited to a networking reception, where drinks will be served.
