Congratulations on securing your place to study Advanced Clinical Practice with us this September. On this page you’ll find useful information and tasks about your chosen pathway, to help make your transition to the University of Sheffield as smooth as possible.

We know this can be a busy time for you, and we want to make preparing to start your course as straightforward as possible. This pre-arrival page is just for new Advanced Clinical Practice students on our Neonatal, Paediatrics and General Practice pathways, starting in September 2025. Here you’ll find information and tasks to complete specific to you and your course.

Introductory day timetable

Our MMedSci Advanced Clinical Practice courses have both an apprenticeship and standard route of entry.

To help familiarise yourself with the course, we bring together students across all cohorts for an in-person introductory day.

The introductory day will take place on Wednesday 24 September 2025 in BB15a in Bartolome House. Please make sure you arrive promptly to allow time to find parking and make your way to campus. You can find a map of our campus here.

Pre-arrival tasks

Complete your clinical supervisor form

It’s important that we record the details of the clinical supervisor who will be supporting you throughout your studies. This means we can invite them to relevant Clinical Supervisor sessions, which are run by our programme leads.

Please make sure that you complete and submit a copy of our Clinical Supervisor Form by Wednesday 17 September 2025. Your completed form can be emailed to ahpnm-acpcourse@sheffield.ac.uk

Submit your e-portfolio

As part of your studies, you’ll have access to an e-portfolio where you’ll record your work. This can then be accessed by University staff, clinical supervisors and assessors.

There are a number of e-portfolio platforms, depending on which pathway you are taking. Please make sure to complete our e-portfolio form by Wednesday 17 September 2025, which will tell us which platform to set up for you.
