- Profile
-
I joined the University in 2024 as a Research Associate. Prior to that, I worked as a researcher at the University of Huddersfield and the University of Oxford.
My research interests include research with children and adults who have been affected by involvement with Children’s Social Care.
I am currently working on the research project ‘Everyday Parenting with Care Experience’ with Dr Katie Ellis (Principal Investigator).
- Research interests
-
My research interests include children and adults affected by involvement with children’s social care. My PhD explored the experiences of birth parents who have had a child adopted from care, including their understanding of consent within adoption.
Between 2019 and 2021, I worked at the University of Oxford on research related to the well-being of children in care and adoption. I then moved to the University of Huddersfield to work on the Stepping Stones Study, an NIHR-funded study which evaluated the different care models and pathways for pregnant women who use drugs, from early pregnancy to one year after the birth of their baby.
I am a registered social worker and worked in children and family social work before undertaking my PhD.
