Week 1-2 timetable

This year, your first week at the University of Sheffield (Welcome Week) takes place from Monday 23 September to Saturday 28 September 2024.

Throughout the week there'll be lots of events across campus, to help you explore the campus and city, make friends, and find out how the university can support you. Information about University-wide activities will be shared with you directly in the run-up to Welcome Week.

During Welcome Week, we’ll also be holding important course and School activities to introduce you to the BMedSci Nursing (Adult) programme and the School of Allied Health Professions, Nursing and Midwifery.

Your Welcome Week (listed as 'week one') and week two timetable can be downloaded here

Your Welcome Week course activities will all take place in room SR DB13 at Bartolome House.

Nursing training plan

Our adult nursing degree is a full time professional course, which means you'll spend approximately 37 hours a week studying (either on placement or studying theory). This means the course doesn't follow the usual structure of other University programmes when it comes to semester breaks.

To help you prepare for this, we've shared a copy of our training plan for all three years of your degree. This includes the schedule of your theory and placement blocks, as well as specific blocks of annual leave which are pre-planned throughout the year.

This plan can be downloaded below.
