Sangita's presented her poster titled 'MAPPING POWER: An Institutional Ethnography Framework for Advancing Gender Equality and Social Inclusion in Energy Transitions'.

Work Package 2 of the JustGESI (Mainstreaming Gender Equality and Social Inclusion for a Just Energy Transition) project focuses on investigating how energy organisations operate from within to identify and overcome barriers to gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) in the energy sector.

The objective of is to identify hidden practices and unconscious discrimination that shape daily operations within the energy sector, specifically targeting the improvement of women's participation. The team is using institutional ethnography across organisations in Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, and Tanzania. This involves mapping the power and paper trails (policies, budgets, and administrative texts) that create inequalities in energy systems. The insights from these ethnographies will be used in policy co-creation workshops to develop guidance for integrating GESI principles into institutional operations.
