Scholars are invited from all disciplines to contribute a chapter to this volume. They are welcoming submissions to the following five themes:

  • Part I (Theories) delves into the key theoretical debates surrounding just transitions, examining various normative framings of justice, such as distributive, procedural and restorative justice.
  • Part II (Practices) focuses on the practicalities of just transitions, encompassing activism,
    policymaking, governance, and politics.
  • Part III (Critiques) engages with a wide range of critical theory to evaluate the concept of just
transition, addressing its limitations and critiques, questioning whether current approaches
    sufficiently address deep-rooted systemic inequalities.
  • Part IV (Methods) explores the diverse methodological approaches employed in just transition
research. This includes advanced quantitative techniques, qualitative methods, mixed-method
    approaches, and collaborative research designs.
  • Part V (Geographies) explores the diverse geographies of just transitions, analyzing regional and
country-specific case studies. It addresses the political, economic, and cultural systems of diverse
regions, providing a global lens on just transitions.
