This degree explores our dependence on language from different perspectives. In Linguistics, you will learn about the nature and development of different languages. In Philosophy, you will develop your understanding of the philosophy of language, as well as other key philosophical areas like ethics, metaphysics and logic.

This four-year course is run jointly with the School of East Asian Studies. The Japanese side of the course combines intensive study of the Japanese language (from beginners level) with modules on Japan and East Asia.
