Lucy Thorp

I joined the University of Sheffield in 2001, and since then have held a number of different roles across the University, working both academic and central service settings.  I have worked in the Faculty of Social Sciences since 2013, initially as Departmental Manager in the School of Education, moving to the Faculty leadership team in 2020 as professional services lead for education.

My responsibilities include oversight of programme delivery, administration and governance; student experience (inc NSS and TEF); student welfare and wellbeing; access and participation; the educational aspects of portfolio review and curriculum development; ED&I in relation to learning, teaching and student experience; and employability. I work closely with the Faculty Director of Education (FDE) to provide strong oversight and quality assurance of education at School level, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met, and supporting the implementation of University priorities at faculty level, developing and implementing faculty initiatives.
