Green Impact successes for sustainability initiatives across Social Sciences.

The Faculty of Social Sciences is celebrating success in the latest Green Impact program, a UN-backed initiative promoting sustainability within organisations.

Teams designed and implemented sustainability projects, creating a more sustainable environment for both students and staff.

Within the Faculty of Social Sciences, the following 9 teams participated in the programme, winning accreditation for their team:

  • School of Architecture - Bronze 
  • Department of Sociological Studies - Silver 
  • Department of Geography - Gold 
  • Economics and Politics - Gold
  • Faculty of Social Sciences - Gold 
  • School of Education - Gold
  • SUMS - Gold 
  • USP - Gold
  • School of Law - Platinum 

Green Impact Special Awards go one step further and acknowledge specific individuals or projects that have had a significant impact. Three winners within Social Sciences received awards: 

  • Gareth Braid, School of Law - Sustainability Hero 
  • Isabel Eustace, Faculty of Social Sciences - Innovation for Engagement 
  • Department of Geography - Labs Innovation Award

International scholarships

We offer a generous package of financial support for international students, including undergraduate and postgraduate taught scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee.

Applications are open for existing offer holders for programmes starting in autumn 2025.
