About us

The Sheffield Institute for Corporate and Commercial Law (SICCL) aims to provide an interdisciplinary approach to contemporary commercial and corporate legal and regulatory issues in the modern economy.

We focus on the relationships between law, finance, technology and data regulation with the aim of moving legal discourse and scholarship forward in a progressive and collaborative way, using a range of research methods.

We host a wide array of conferences on all aspects of corporate and commercial law, including the impact of contemporary advancements in technology, finance, health and data regulation on commerce.  

Our members engage in a variety of public and industry facing activities to use our expertise for the good of our community.  These include responding to Law Commission and public agency consultations, corporate consultations, and public engagement with industry actors.  

The Institute provides a welcoming community for our researchers, including postgraduate students and visiting scholars from around the world.  We welcome undergraduate and postgraduate students to our events and bring them into the research environment to enhance their learning experience.
