Profile

I joined SEAS in the Autumn term of 2024, and I have taught Korean at universities and university-affiliated language institutes in several countries over 5 years. I took postgraduate studies in Korean Studies, specialised in Korean as a Second Language Education at Yonsei University.

Qualifications

MA in Korean Studies specialised in Korean as a Second Language Education, Yonsei University

BA in Korean Language and Literature Education, Kyungpook National University

Teaching activities

I will teach non-specialists Korean language modules. I believe that learning and speaking a second language enables students not only to acquire a new practical communicate skills but also to adopt a new identity by expressing their thoughts in novel ways that differ from their mother tongue. In the process of learning, they constantly challenge themselves to engage in self-reflection and develop self-awareness by regenerating their values and experiences through the lens of a foreign language. Ultimately, I hope their experience in learning language helps them to grow as individuals with an open-minded perspective, facilitating greater global interaction beyond the classroom.
