Fiorenzo is visiting the OS group from October to December 2021. Fiorenzo is a PhD candidate in Sociology and Political Science at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence in Italy and a member of the Centre on Social Movement Studies (COSMOS).
For his doctoral work, he is exploring processes of professionalisation and bureaucratisation of Northern NGOs, with a particular focus on the case of Italy. As a visiting PhD candidate he is planning to develop a theoretical framework to explore organisational evolutions in the NGO sector in collaboration with Dr. Emanuela Girei.
Fiorenzo’s academic background is in international studies, community development and applied interlinguistic communication. He is a social scientist and international development practitioner who has been engaged in non-governmental aid interventions and research projects across Europe, Australia and the Pacific.
