Gina holds a First Class degree in Music from The University of Sheffield. Though she is classically trained, Gina has been a gigging pop/jazz singer since 2007 and decided to start taking her own vocal training seriously a few years later, learning all about technique for the contemporary voice under teacher Chris Johnson. As well as ensuring technically strong lessons from a holistic perspective, Gina encourages each student to discover the colours, tones and expression in their voices to communicate with audiences and develop a performance style. Gina holds a certificate in Estill Training levels 1 & 2, Vocal Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid. Gina is invested in her own professional development and has attended training and webinars led by Kim Chandler, Dane Chalfin, Jenovra Williams, Chris Johnson, Heidi Moss, Anne-Marie Speed, Dr Ingo Titze, Rachel Lynes and more leading pedagogy professionals.
Her time fronting the indie-pop band Screaming Maldini saw her touring the UK, France and even Japan where the band’s album reached No.2 in the album charts. As well as performing, Gina has been song-writing for over a decade and is still writing and gigging with her most recent project, Before Breakfast, whose debut LP I Could Be Asleep If it Weren't For You was released in January 2022.
As a professional singer, Gina has also supported Justin Bieber at Sheffield Arena with NYC outfit ‘The Knocks”, recorded a live session in Abbey Road Studios, played for BBC Introducing in Hyde Park & Latitude Festival, had radio play on Radio 1, Radio 2, BBC 6Music and has recorded original music for BBC 2.She leads pop choir ‘Neighbourhood Voices’ at Yellow Arch studios, teaches privately at her studio in Kelham Island and works for Sheffield Music School, Tracks and Westbourne Senior School.
