Recent music alumni events have included a orchestra weekend and remembrance concert to honour legacy of renowned classical musician, Peter Cropper. The concert, which celebrated the life and music of the founder and former leader of the internationally renowned Lindsay Quartet, featured performances by musicians who studied in the University of Sheffield’s Department of Music over the past 50 years. Graduates from the University who performed in the concert work with prestigious orchestras and music institutions all over the world.

The Concerts programme includes scores of international and award-winning performers from across world, jazz, folk, contemporary and classical music. Abi Hall

After graduating in 2021, Abs has gone onto establish herself as a solo musician and is about to embark on her first UK tour. Find out how studying at the University of Sheffield helped Abs turn her passion into a profession.
Marie-Christinne Clarisse
MA in Transcultural and Traditional Music Studies
Marie-Christinne studied on the MA in Traditional and World Music course in 2014 and has since been awarded the Study UK Alumni Award 2022 in the 'Culture and Creativity' category. This outstanding achievement recognises Marie-Cristinne's work of music and art in education and social work in Mauritius.

Charlotte Champian
2016
After graduating with a music degree in 2016, singer-songwriter Charlotte Champian has collaborated with fellow musicians to launch the album 'As the summer' which has been commended on BBC Introducing.
Mike Gibbons
1974
After graduating from the Department of Music in 1974, Mike has gone on to have a successful career in the production industry, working for the BBC on a multitude of live events, including concerts in Buckingham Palace for HM Queen's Golden Jubilee.

- 10% discount if you achieve a 2:2 (capped at £1,500) or attended a Study Abroad/Erasmus programme with us.
Postgraduate Taught Alumni Excellence Scholarship
- 20% discount if you achieve a First (capped at £2,500)
- 15% discount if you achieve a 2:1 (capped at £2,000)
Postgraduate Research Courses
- 10% discount on tuition fees (capped at £1,500).
