Associate Professor Philip Cardiff

Philip graduated with a BE (2008) and PhD (2012) in mechanical engineering from University College Dublin. Subsequently, he spent time as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow working on the development of computational models within the Irish Centre for Composites Research at UCD, and within the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Philip is a current Irish Research Council Laureate, a funded investigator in the national Advanced Manufacturing Centre I-Form (www.i-form.ie), the director of Bekaert’s first University Technology Centre (www.ucd.ie/bekaert), a previous chair of the international OpenFOAM Workshop committee and current member (openfoamworkshop.org), and an editor of the recently established OpenFOAM Journal (journal.openfoam.com).
