Coming to Sheffield was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life
What made you choose to study at Sheffield and your course?
Aside from being ione of the best universities in the world, the University of Sheffield is also one of the best planning schools in the UK. What encouraged me to apply was the chance to address real-life planning issues through the integrated projects. I also love the fact that the course is accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
How did you research the University to find out about studying in Sheffield?
I browsed the University and department websites. I also looked at the QS World University and Times Higher Education rankings.
What was your initial impression of Sheffield and the University when you first arrived?
When I first arrived, I saw Sheffield as peaceful and laid-back. Everyone was nice and willing to help. Despite being an international student, I never felt left out or discriminated against. It is a great and busy city, but isn’t as stressful as some of the other major cities. When I did my registration at the University, I was really impressed with how organised it was. My schedule was on the timetable and all the pre-registration tasks were very accessible. The registration was an overall pleasant experience because it was fast.
What are the highlights of your experience in Sheffield so far?
My highlights so far would definitely be the fairs and societies! There were lots of opportunities to meet new people from different countries and backgrounds and of course, get freebies.
