How did you first hear about your scholarship?

I visited our school website, which provides clear information for all kinds of scholarship. I am really honoured to be awarded a scholarship since the competition is very fierce, the scholarship has lessened my financial burden so that I can fully focus on my study.

What made you choose to study at Sheffield and your course?

Department of Urban Studies and Planning in the University of Sheffield is one of the best schools in the UK to study urban planning. My course is fully accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and it provides excellent training for me to be a planner.

How did you research the University to find out about studying in Sheffield?

I consulted some friends and acquaintances to know more about studying at different universities. I also took reference from the international ranking of universities. The University of Sheffield has good reputation and high ranking.

What are you enjoying about your first semester? 

I enjoy the learning atmosphere here, especially during seminar or workshop. Classmates are encouraged to express their views, despite controversial or radical. The discussion and debate are inspirational.

What advice would you give to a student considering studying at the University of Sheffield?

Staff of the University of Sheffield, no matter teaching or administrative, are very caring and helpful. Please do not hesitate to ask for help or information. Do apply for school accommodation since you can experience the school culture and build social network in the campus.

What do you hope to do in the future?

I hope to become a planner in the UK to create communities and places that are more inclusive and diverse. I believe that the training of my course will equip me to be a planning specialist.
