Sheffield has an amazing international environment
How did you feel when you heard that you were successful in being awarded the scholarship?
I felt an explosion of emotions! I was extremely happy, excited and emotional. It was my second year trying to get this scholarship, so I felt relieved after all my years of hard work.
What made you choose to study at Sheffield and your course?
Sheffield was my first option because it offered excellent facilities for students and a lot of support for international students. Also, the Master’s programme on Psychology of Music was well structured and designed by a range of professors and researchers who work within the field.
How did you research the University to find out about studying in Sheffield?
I found Sheffield online, searching for universities that offered my course. Sheffield’s website caught my attention because it had all the information that I needed to make my decision. Since I am an international student, it was extremely important to have access to the University’s facilities and course structure online.
What was your initial impression of Sheffield and the University when you first arrived?
My initial impression was that it was a sunny and green city, since the first place that I visited was the Peak District. Also, the people seemed friendly and helpful, I started making friends from my first day in Sheffield. I am glad my first impressions were a true reflection of Sheffield.
What would you say to a student considering studying at the University of Sheffield?
I would say that coming to Sheffield was one of the best decisions of my life. I love spending time in the libraries and parks, meeting new friends at the Students' Union and developing my knowledge in one of the best universities in the UK. The friendly environment really does make you feel at home!
