Profile

I hold a PhD in Education Leadership, Policy, and Social Justice from the University of Western Ontario. I am also an Ontario Certified Teacher experienced working in Canadian elementary and secondary school settings. My research centers on mental health in education, Critical Disability Studies, Mad Studies, critical pedagogy, and human geography.  My writing on disability has been published in Disability & SocietyJournal of Qualitative InquiryDisability Studies Quarterly, and Manifestos for the Future of Critical Disability Studies. Through my work, I have advanced mobility-oriented methods of inquiry drawing on Foucauldian socio-spatial analytics and qualitative go-along interviews. My current research project examines global biometric data applications and mental health through participatory research paradigms. I am also interested in evolving smart city technologies and their health-related implications.
