Monthly online Fika meetups 2024/2025
Event details
Description
Our monthly Fikas are a chance to take a break from work and connect with other researchers across the University over a cup of tea/coffee who are also interested in participatory research.
When is it?
12-1pm, online on the following dates:
- Tuesday 19 November 2024
- Wednesday 18 December 2024
- Thursday 16 January 2025
- Friday 14 February 2025
- Monday 10 March 2025
- Tuesday 8 April 2025
- Wednesday 7 May 2025
- Thursday 5 June 2025
- Friday 4 July 2025
Who's it for?
All staff and PGTs/PGRs doing, or even just interested in, participatory research from any discipline. We particularly encourage postgraduate students and early career academics to come along!
What to expect?
Our Fikas [Fee-ka], inspired by the Swedish tradition, are a casual space to connect with others over a cup of tea/coffee, share insights, and build a supportive network of researchers.
Everyone's welcome, whether you want to learn about others' research, have questions about a project you're doing, or you're simply craving some social interaction!
You can pop in for as little or as long as you like.
Find out more about the background to our Fika sessions in this blog post by one of our committee members, Dr Esbjörn Wettermark.
iHuman
How we understand being ‘human’ differs between disciplines and has changed radically over time. We are living in an age marked by rapid growth in knowledge about the human body and brain, and new technologies with the potential to change them.
