The project responds to the growing hopelessness that pervades the contemporary education sector. It brings together a team of teachers, activists and academics working in the fields of radical education, critical pedagogy and utopian studies with the aim of reclaiming and recapturing education as a sphere of human possibility.

The project team is seeking to submit an ESRC Standard Grant application to explore two basic questions: What places and spaces of possibility can still be found within educational institutions and  how can teachers and lecturers best position themselves within these spaces in order to nurture and cultivate transformative hope among their students?
