Robert Stern (1962-2024)
In Memoriam page for Robert Stern.
Professor Robert Stern joined the Philosophy Department in Sheffield in 1989 where he stayed until he retired (on grounds of ill-health) in 2023. He played an enormous part in the life of the department over that time, and was much loved and respected by colleagues, students and visitors, as well as sustaining an international reputation as a leading scholar in the history of nineteenth century philosophy in particular.
We have set up this page to share some links with interviews, videos and other pages of interest, and as a place for people to share their memories of Bob. We invite you to complete this Google Form, or email r.keefe@sheffield.ac.uk, if you would like to contribute, whether you are an ex-student or colleague, or knew Bob in other ways through the Philosophy world.
You can find our original notice here.
