Profile

I am a trained linguist, holding two PhD qualifications. With broad interests in linguistics, my main expertise lies in morphology and the interplay between lexicon and grammar, as well as in corpus linguistics. Nevertheless, I hesitate to confine myself to a specific category of linguists, for I hold the belief that every method or theory contributes unique value to the exploration of language—a complex, multiparameter system. It is through the lens of methodological pluralism that the complete picture of language begins to unfold. Thus, I derive pleasure from delving into various linguistic challenges.

The 'Feast and Famine' project exemplifies methodological pluralism, exploring morphological defectivity and overabundance from multiple perspectives and employing diverse methodologies. Within the ‘Feast and Famine’ project, my role involves investigating the nuances of verbal defectivity in Ukrainian and Russian, examining how and why this phenomenon varies between the two languages.

I have recently contributed to projects focused on various linguistic challenges, including language evolution, the development of the English emotion and cognition lexicon, the study of disinformation using LLMs and metonymical reference.
